Abri is an early adopter of the Sustainability Reporting Standard for Social Housing which provides a voluntary reporting framework for housing providers to report on their ESG performance transparently and consistently.
This makes it easier for lenders and investors toassess the ESG performance of housing providers and to identify ESG risks and opportunities, where positive social and environmental outcomes can be achieved.
During 2019, The Good Economy published the final report of the ESG Social Housing WorkingGroup, a unique collaboration of 18 banks and investors, housing associations, service providersand impact investing organisations.
The Sustainability Reporting Standard (SRS) criteria are divided up into twelve ESG themes and 48 Criteria. The standard’s 12 core themes are:
- Affordability and security
- Building safety and quality
- Resident voice
- Resident support
- Placemaking
- Climate change
- Ecology
- Resource management
- Structure and governance
- Board and trustees
- Staff well-being
- Supply chain management
These themes have been aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
